Berkeley’s ingenious one-act comic opera, A Dinner Engagement sees Lord and Lady Dunmow prepare to host dinner for the Grand Duchess of Monteblanco and her son Phillipe in an attempt to palm off their unruly daughter Susan, to help solve their financial problems. However, when dinner is burnt amidst persistent demands from an errand boy and the eccentricities of hired help, things go from bad to worse.
