Mozart often directed his own music from the violin, and that’s exactly what Julian Rachlin will be doing today, as together with viola player Sarah McElravy, he performs what might be the greatest concerto Mozart ever wrote. And then he unleashes the full, revolutionary force of Beethoven’s Eroica symphony: music that changed history. Rossini’s sparkling overture, meanwhile, aims only to delight.
