CBSO: Mirga Conducts Brahms

When Edward Elgar became professor of music at the University of Birmingham, he was eager to share his love of Brahms’ Third Symphony. And you can hear why: because from tempestuous opening to final, glowing sunset, it’s romantic music at its most gloriously colourful. That’s the inspiration behind Mirga’s programme – a ravishing setting for the UK premiere of Jörg Widmann’s deliciously dark fairytale songs.

CBSO+ 6.15pm: Don't miss this unique opportunity to discover more about tonight's new CBSO Centenary Commission in this pre-concert talk with Jörg Widmann.
