CBSO: Beethoven & Stravinsky

It’s springtime in old Russia, and as crowds throng the Shrovetide Fair, passions are rising. But a puppet can’t have feelings – can he? Stravinsky’s Petrushka is the ear-tingling climax to a supercharged concert, as charismatic guest conductor Gustavo Gimeno teams up with keyboard master Jeremy Denk in Beethoven’s most personal piano concerto, and revels in the drama and heroism of the overture to Egmont.

CBSO+ Saturday 23, 5.45pm: Join Bryony Morrison – Tutti Second Violin – and classical music writer and critic Richard Bratby as they talk about his new book exploring the CBSO, commissioned especially to celebrate our Centenary.
