The German-Japanese pianist Alice Sara Ott makes a hotly awaited return to Birmingham, this time alone on the Symphony Hall stage.
Hailed by critics for her refinement and intensity Ott is a one-of-kind musician – a dazzling concerto soloist, a talented illustrator and designer, and a brilliantly compelling recitalist. Today, Ott’s luxurious programme sandwiches Chopin between Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque and Rêverie, before transitioning to a selection of Satie’s luminous piano works and closing with Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit, famous for its technically challenging difficulty.
