Sandra Kerr and John Faulkner

Truly an evening of legends!

Sandra Kerr & John Faulkner, co-writers of the music and songs of the much-loved Bagpuss films, once again combine their instrumental, vocal and writing skills to present an evening of music, including traditional songs and tunes & self-penned material (some of a distinctly political nature).

Both have long and distinguished careers in folk music, mentored as they were by Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger in the London-based Critics Group in the 60s and 70s. In the years since, John has worked with the best in Irish traditional music, and has appeared on over fifteen albums (including several with Dolores Keane), having huge success with his song about Nelson Mandela 'Lion in a Cage' while working with De Dannan. Sandra (an English Folk Dance and Song Society gold badge holder) has become acclaimed for her work with Sisters Unlimited, as a feminist song-writer of note, as a vocal trainer and folk choir director, and for her work with young musicians as a lecturer on the Newcastle University Folk Degree.

This will be a concert to delight all generations of folk music lovers. Tickets £10 (£7.50 concessions) available from Trad Arts Team events
