From its early days, Cadbury made extensive use of canals and navigable rivers to transport ingredients and other essential materials like coal and timber. The company had a fleet of narrow boats and the last 'cocoa run' took place in the early 1960s. This talk will look at how narrow boats moved on the Midland canal network to transport cocoa, sugar and milk to Bournville, resulting in that lovely product - the Cadbury milk chocolate bar!
