The Art of Ageing Artfully Conference

The definition of being old has been said to apply to anyone who is 10 years older than you are. This day explores the role of creativity, arts and cultural change in the experiences of growing older. It offers insights from 10 years of research and experiment and provokes questions that affect all of us.

The event will offer active workshops and demonstrations, performances and discussions with leading artists. Open to industry professionals (arts, libraries & museums) and those concerned with social prescribing, care home provision and policy, and the general public.

It asks if a medical model of old age can address the creative and cultural realities of our lives. It offers a diverse range of older voices speaking for themselves as creative people. It explores the landscape and context for growing older and being creative as well as drawing on international perspectives from many cultures.
