5th Maria do Camboatá

Capoeira has always been a liberation movement, historically it's objective has been to empower, enlighten and inspire people to fight for freedom. This struggle against extreme prejudice, poverty, structural and social barriers is still a struggle needed to be fought today.

Maria do Camboatá was a legendary figure for the fight for equal rights, value and social position for women in society. Earning respect and influence in a heavily masculinised world.

This year we invite everyone to our 5 year event in her name to celebrate international women's day and welcome you all to support, contribute, enjoy and empower our community in this landmark event full of workshops, talks and rodas of Capoeira.
